The 2018 Jaguar F-PACE's standard 2.0-liter turbocharged
four-cylinder engine produces 247 horsepower, 48 horsepower less than the 2018
Lexus RX 350 and its 3.5-liter DOHC V6. However, it also has a 2.0-liter
four-cylinder engine that generates 296 horsepower, greater than the Lexus RX 350
engine. In addition to the four-cylinder engine, the Jaguar F-PACE offers a
3.0-liter supercharged V6 that cranks out 380 horsepower, giving it a clear
upper hand in the power department.
The Jaguar F-PACE has a 3.3-inch longer wheelbase and 1.5-inch
wider average track than the Lexus RX 350, enabling it to provide a smoother
and more stable ride. Its 5.6-inch shorter body makes it easier to maneuver in
tight quarters, while its 350-pound lighter weight results in better
acceleration, agility, and fuel efficiency. Additionally, the F-PACE delivers
stronger stopping power, needing only 107 feet to come to a complete stop from
60 mph. The Lexus RX 350, however, has a stopping distance of 123 feet.
Fuel Economy
In EPA tests, the base model of the 2018 Jaguar F-PACE achieved a fuel-economy rating of 22/27 mpg (city/highway), while the all-wheel-drive
2018 Lexus RX 350 managed only 19/26 mpg. Regardless of which engine it uses,
the F-PACE comes with a regenerative braking system, which increases its fuel
efficiency by turning inertia back into energy rather than wasting it. Also,
its engine will turn off automatically when it is stationary, reducing fuel consumption and pollution. The Lexus RX 350 does not
have regenerative braking and automatic engine start and stop.
Luxury & Convenience
The 2018 Jaguar F-PACE is fitted with rain-sensitive wipers that
automatically turn on and off and adjust their speed according to the amount of
rain on the windshield. With this feature, you can focus on driving without
having to constantly adjust the wipers. The Lexus RX 350 standard wipers have
to be adjusted constantly. If you opt for the Jaguar F-PACE R-Sport or S, you
can get the optional Park Assist technology, which enables the vehicle to
maneuver itself into a parking spot. Automated parking is unavailable in the
Lexus RX 350. Â
Warranty
When you purchase a 2018 Jaguar F-PACE, you will receive a
five-year or 60,000-mile basic warranty. The 2018 Lexus RX 350, however, comes
with a four-year or 50,000-mile warranty. Also, the F-PACE offers complimentary
maintenance for five years and 60,000 miles. Maintenance on the Lexus RX 350 is
free only on the first visit.
Both the 2018 Jaguar F-PACE and the 2018 Lexus RX 350 are excellent
vehicles that offer good value for money. However, the F-PACE may have an
advantage because of its better performance, fuel efficiency, and warranty. If
you want to know if the Jaguar F-PACE is indeed the right choice for you,
