Performance

Both of these vehicles perform admirably on the road, delivering
smooth, whisper-quiet rides and responsive handling. The engine choices Jaguar
offers motorists is the great differentiator here. The 750i has just a single
motor option: a 4.4-liter V-8 generating 445 horsepower. It's peppier than the
3.0-liter supercharged V-6 on the base model XJ, which makes just 340 horsepower.
However, Jaguar also treats motorists to an impressive pair of 5.0-liter V-8
options. One generates 470 horsepower while the top engine makes 575
horsepower.
Luxury and Convenience
Cars like the XJ and 750i ooze luxury. Their makers pride
themselves on delivering a superior vehicle that makes drivers and their
passengers feel like VIPs. The attention to detail in both cars, from the wood
panels and leather finishes to the innovative tech offerings, is impressive.
Both cars also treat motorists and their guests to an enviable amount of leg
and headroom. Selecting the BMW's executive-style rear seats means the car
seats four, rather than five, but gives each passenger a little more space. For
extra space in the Jaguar, choose the long wheelbase model.
Both cars also feature generous 10.2-inch screens for clear and
intuitive navigation and entertainment. Both screens integrate with Apple
CarPlay, but only the Jaguar works with Android Auto too. Both cars also
function as Wi-FI hotspots for your convenience.
While BMW makes using the tech features inside the 750i easy,
Jaguar takes one step further and lets you control your XJ outside the vehicle
via its Touch Pro system. With Touch Pro, your smartphone becomes
a remote control, letting you control your XJ's climate, locate it in crowded
parking lots, and lock and unlock your car.
Warranty
When you invest in luxury cars like the XJ and 750i, you need to
know your investment is protected. Warranties and after-market service matter.
While the BMW Ultimate Care package is impressive, it can't hold a candle to Jaguar EliteCare.
Known as the best in its class, the Jaguar EliteCare warranty
covers motorists for a period of five years or 60,000 miles. That's one year or
10,000 miles more than BMW. While BMW owners cover their own services during
the warranty period, Jaguar treats its customers to free scheduled maintenance
during those initial five years. Both makers offer free 24/7 roadside
assistance during their warranty periods, although BMW drivers should remember
that their benefits end one year sooner. Â Both automakers also offer
additional protection against corrosion.Â
While both luxury sedans are elegant options, the Jaguar XJ has
a slight edge over its German competitor. Cars like the Jaguar XJ don't come
along every day; this sophisticated sedan represents many years of investment
in motoring pleasure.
